# Liaoning: inventory and research for seven collections

Researched on 4 October 2026. This is an artistic brief, not evidence of an already completed generation. The map is a visual source; its captions and geographical placement are not automatically accepted as verified facts.

## Inventory of the source map

Liaoxi Mountains, Liao River, Liaohe Plain; Mukden Palace; Fuling, Zhaoling, Yongling tombs; caravan with the caption Tea Merchant Caravan; Tea Wharf with boats, architecture and a pier; Red Beach, cranes; Hongshan Culture: jade C-shaped figure and vessels; Qianshan; Benxi Water Cave with a boat; Liaodong Mountains, pines, tiger, sable, ginseng, deer/antlers; Wunu Mountain City; Yalu River, Great Wall Terminus, Broken Bridge; Dalian with a historic square; Liaodong Peninsula, Lushun with a fort and lighthouse; sailing and modern vessels, Bohai Sea/Yellow Sea. The captions Tea Wharf/Tea Merchant Caravan are not proven as specific historical objects; we do not present them as museum fact.

## Verified tea contexts and limitations

**Tea trade:** the official digital museum of old trademarks of the Ministry of Commerce describes Zhonghefu in Shenyang, its tea retail, festivals and tea culture education (S2). This is a reliable basis for a scene of weighing imported leaf, tea canisters and a tasting table. We do not use someone else's logo and do not present the author's facade as an exact historical view of the shop.

**Contemporary culture:** Shenyang's cultural administration directly describes museum cafés and milk-tea projects at the palace complex (S3). A modern tea cup next to the architecture is possible in the design, but not a fictional ancient imperial ceremony. tea.travel offers a useful route through the region, yet claims about specific proportions of “Manchu milk tea,” military tea, and particular old export branches are not confirmed here.

**Plants/geography:** ginseng, sable and deer are regional map motifs, not the composition of a "three-treasure tea". The prints contain no tea made from fur or antlers; if the root is present, it is a separate botanical detail. No claims about the absence of absolutely any experimental cultivation: we simply do not draw unconfirmed plantations. The coast, bridge, cliffs and palace are a geographical background in open outlines; modern tea pauses near them are artistically composed.

- **S4** — [Ministry of Commerce: list of old Liaoning trademarks](https://lzhbwgresources.mofcom.gov.cn/thb/guide/liao-lzhml.pdf). Zhonghefu is listed as a tea trading house; Tianyitang is a pharmacy and does not replace it.

## Seven compositional solutions

- **C1 — Tea constellation:** Old Shenyang tea trade and modern coastal tea life are connected by two colors.
- **C2 — Large letters — tea worlds:** LIAONING becomes a tea street: scales, tasting, palace, and embankment interact with the letters.
- **C3 — Tea Territories:** The urban tea territory from the counter to the sea pause.
- **C4 — Illustrated Atlas:** The palace and Dalian are two unequal anchors of the atlas with a gorge, bridge, and tea table.
- **C5 — Parade of landmarks:** Double outline of the name and a light procession of tea objects, rocks and port silhouettes.
- **C6 — Travel lines:** A diagonal coastline connects the tea gesture, palace, bridge and lighthouse.
- **C7 — Based on real cups:** Nine large episodes in the manner of real cups, without invented imperial recipes.
